Evanston, IL Neighbor Post
Sandy Wilson, Neighbor, Ward 1 Resident
Hit the Road, Judy
I’m not often one to speak out publicly on Evanston politics, but I feel compelled to add my voice to the chorus of calls for Evanston’s First Ward to send Judy Fiske packing and to elect Clare Kelly.
When I’ve called or emailed Judy, it’s often met with silence. When I have gotten responses, they haven’t been particularly constructive.
It’s time to make a positive change. Our First Ward deserves responsible, responsive representation.
Clare Kelly has a long record of working collaboratively to effect positive change. On issues ranging from social justice to the environment, Clare has worked for decades to improve our world…and our Ward.
She led the coalition that got the medical waste incinerator at Evanston Northwestern Hospital closed—a fight that led to state and federal changes in the regulation of medical waste disposal.
Clare was recently awarded renewal of her prestigious National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certificate. As a high school teacher myself, I can tell you that obtaining this nationally honored certificate represents deep commitment and understanding of the teaching profession and is difficult to obtain. Clare has demonstrated a similarly strong commitment to First Ward residents and to all Evanston residents.
I’ll be voting for Clare Kelly, and I hope my First Ward neighbors will join me.
Sandy Wilson, Ward 1 Resident
